The following page has been compiled by Martin Melaugh to complement the Index of Deaths (1969-2001) by Malcolm Sutton. The information below is in draft form and should be treated with some caution. Some of the deaths listed below may be shown later to be unrelated to the conflict.

Status: Civilian (Civ), Killed by: Continuity IRA
Shot dead outside a Domino's Pizza shop where he worked, Kennedy Way, West Belfast. [On 6 April 2013 the Continuity IRA (CIRA) claimed responsibility for the killing.] |

Kevin Kearney (46) Catholic
Status: Civilian (Civ), Killed by: [new] IRA
Found shot dead in lake in Alexandra Park, off the Antrim Road, North Belfast. [It was reported in the media that Kearney was known to police and it was alleged he had dealt in drugs. (See: BBC.) On 10 October 2013, The Irish News reported that it had received a statement from 'the IRA' claiming responsibility for the killing. (The Irish News, 10 October 2013; p.1) This new IRA dissident group had formed on 26 July 2012.] |

Peter Butterly (35) nfNIRI
Status: Civilian (Civ)?, Killed by: Unknown
Shot dead in the car park of the Huntsman Inn, near Gormanston, County Meath, Republic of Ireland. [The media reported that Butterly was known to Irish police because of his alleged involvement in Dissident Republican activities. (See: BBC.) It was also reported that Butterly had been the subject of an internal Real IRA investigation in 2012 (The Irish News, 8 March 2013; p.10).] |

Barry McCrory (35) Catholic
Status: Civilian (Civ), Killed by: Unknown
Shot dead in a flat on Shipquay Street, Derry. [Police initially said they were keeping an open mind on the motive for the killing. It was reported that dissident Republicans may have been responsible for the killing. (See: BBC.)] |

In most cases the photographs were taken by a member of the family, a relative or a friend. At the time the photographs were provided to the local media, the name of the photographer was not recorded. No payment was made for the photograph. In some cases the original image was never returned.
